Find the answers to some of the most common fly fishing questions.

What time of the year is the best time ?

You could basically go flyfishing all year round in Hokkaido. but the best dry fly season starts in June and goes up until end of october.

What fish should I expect ?

We usually go after Yamame (hokkaido River cherry Salmon), Amemasu (white spotted Japanese char) Nijimasu (introduced rainbow trout) or Brown trout (introduced). but will occasionally hook some Igui (rudd) as well.

Will I Catch fish?

While we cannot garantee you will be catching fish, we put all our efforts to make is as easy as possible. from choosing the right river, the right spot, the right fly. and giving as much advices as possible. all you ask for when you go flyfishing !

Is flyfishing easy ?

We never stress it enough, flyfishing is darn easy ! if my 6 years old niece could catch this big fish this summer, so can you !

What gears should I bring ?

just come with a small daypack, maybe some beverages and some light snacks.

we will provide waders, but on a sunny day you can plan to go just with a pair of baskets directly in the river if you prefer (no bare foot please).

sunglasses and a hat are definetly a must !

I have all my gears with me and just need a guide to improve or show me around, is it possible?

It sure is ! just let us know you need a taylormade tour and we can even venture further than the niseko area !
