There are a lot more rivers and streams around Niseko and Even more in Hokkaido!
We found the perfect trout river, closer to bears than humans.
This is a 2 to 3 days backcountry flyfishing trip.
sleep in a tent and fish from dawn to dusk.
By far the best way to enjoy the Hokkaido fishing if you have time.
4 people maximum, sleeping bags on asking.
note: Multiday options with night in remote ryokan also possible on asking.

Winter Fishing in Hokkaido
New to the 2020-2021 season, we will now organise fishing tours in winter.
The tours will include snowshoeing to selected mountain streams to maximize the chances of catching a fish.
Tenkara and leurre fishing will be the choice of techniques for the winter. as much as we love the traditional flyfishing, the line manipulation, placement on the river makes it too difficult in the winter conditions we have in hokkaido.
Tenkara is much more simple and once set up correctly allows us to fish from the riverside rather than the middle of the river.
Leurre fishing is another option for those unfamiliar with nymph fishing that do not want to learn it by -10 degree celcisu !
Plan on a short snowshoe to access the river, from there we can leave them on the riverside and continue with regular snow boots.
The river is beautiful, the fish a bit slow.
